Beachfront Dining in Rincon

 

To much fanfare, the new La Copa Llena Restaurant at the Black Eagle, opened in the fall of 2012.  “La Copa Llena” means “The Full Cup” in Spanish and that is a great indication of the style and vibe you’ll encounter at this new restaurant.  Located in the historic Black Eagle Restaurant building (one of Rincon’s oldest establishments), La Copa Llena promises fresh, innovative dishes inspired by the colors and textures of Spain, Colombia, Asia and Puerto Rico (imagine green papaya salad made from the fruit off of your neighbor’s tree) ~ flavors you rarely see in small beach towns like Rincon.  La Copa Llena brings an established staff of the previous local’s favorite Tapas Bar at Casa Islena. The elegant, yet laid back atmosphere is ideal for enjoying luscious dishes overlooking the deep blue sea and the staff is some of the most friendly and charming you’ll find in Rincon. Like any good restaurant, the menu is ever-changing, but keep an eye out for fresh local seafood (read: swordfish kebobs in a coconut curry sauce), organic greens and inventive meat dishes (skirt steak marinated in ginger, garlic and soy). Wash it all down with a good glass of wine or their famous orange-ginger sangria. If you have an adventurous palate, don’t forget about Sunday brunch, featuring Southwest-inspired breakfast items such as hash with confit pork belly, posole with a poached egg. Of course there’s also savory crepes, spicy huevos rancheros, a traditional monte cristo and a big ol’ quiche. During holidays and special events La Copa Llena features amazing pre-fixed menus for a real splurge.
