Pools Beach Rincon PR

Located at the Western end of the beaches in Puntas, Pools Beach creates a beautiful and natural little cove that is perfect if you’re looking for a semi-private beach to spend your day. Pools Beach is also a great option for families with small children, as the beach offers lots of sand to play in and a pretty calm, protected area for swimming. When the winds and tide are right though, Pools Beach becomes a great option for surfers looking for a challenging Rincon PR surf break.

Annie’s Tip: “Pools is one of the local’s favorite surf spots because it can have great surf and be totally uncrowded, versus some of the other more well-known areas.  If you catch it right, the waves at Pools can be clean and glassy with no one else in sight.”

The Beach at Pools Rincon

If you turn down the hill at Puntas Bakery and head into Puntas proper, the first beach you come to will be Pools Beach, with a tiny little access to the beach from the road. Or, you can climb down the little trail from the rocky point between Pools and Sandy Beach, which is known as Siete Barrasos, and find yourself on the small and private Pools Beach. This rocky point contributes to some of the great surf that can be found at Pools, so keep an eye out for waves and keep your board handy!

Pools Beach Rincon PR Attractions and Dining

Although Pools Beach has no shops or public facilities, it is just a short distance from Pool Bar, one of the most popular local hangouts in Rincon Puerto Rico. Serving delicious meals, including fresh-caught fish and sushi, and showing surf flicks on the huge projector screen next to the in-house pool, Pool Bar is a fun and cozy place to grab a bite to eat or enjoy a cold Medalla with friends. You’ll see the sign for Pool Bar right near Pools Beach, so park your car on the road and check out what Pool Bar and Pools Beach have to offer!
